In order to understand the difficulties children encounter in learning English, I did an online questionnaire survey before the beginning of school to investigate the difficulties children may encounter in learning English and countermeasures. The results show that most students with learning difficulties memorize words by rote. Because they can't remember words, can't read and understand, and can't start writing, So I failed in the exam, and bad grades again and again led to children losing confidence in learning English.

In order to make it easier for children to master English vocabulary, I decided to start teaching from phonetics, and let children understand that English is alphabetic, and all words are composed of letters. As long as they can know the pronunciation of each letter and letter combination in the word, they can correctly read the word, that is, they can read the word, and as long as they correctly master the pronunciation of the word, We can achieve a higher goal - listening and writing.

The pronunciation of letters in words is phonetic symbols, which is the number one problem to be solved. I start from the pronunciation of letters and divide them into consonants and vowels. Most of the pronunciation of consonants in words is consistent with Chinese pinyin. For example, B pronounces Chinese Pinyin B in words, but the trouble is the pronunciation of vowels and letter combinations, that is, vowels, So I wrote the twelve unit sounds on the blackboard, led the children to review every day, and used them when teaching new words. After two weeks, most children have been able to accurately read the words according to the phonetics, and then put the words into the sentence pattern and text to remember. For easy to mix words, some more flexible and ingenious methods are adopted to help children remember.

For example, the words some time and some time are easily confused by children, so I adopted the following teaching methods. Because children are about to graduate immediately, they will be separated for a period of time after graduation. Then the separation of some and time means a period of time, but they will meet again at some time in the future, so the combination of some time means a certain time Some time apart means a period of time, while some time together means a certain time The current high school entrance examination mainly focuses on reading. As long as children can correctly master the method of memorizing vocabulary and have a certain vocabulary, their reading ability will be improved, and their grades will naturally be raised.

It's the third day of junior high school. English is very poor. It's necessary to seriously reflect on our learning methods. The vast majority of Chinese children learn English from the third grade of primary school and have studied it for at least five years from the third day of junior high school. If we spend five years learning a language and fail to solve the basic listening, speaking and reading in the end, it certainly shows that there are serious problems in our learning methods. I think The biggest problem is that most Chinese children (including those who can usually get high marks in the exam) are memorizing words in the wrong way.

First of all, we must understand that it is meaningless to remember words and learn grammar without specific articles. It is nonsense. At least we should remember words and learn grammar on the basis of understanding and familiar with sentences. Every word we want to remember, especially verbs, should be placed in at least three specific sentences and slowly taste its function. The key to memorizing each word is its pronunciation, Be sure to listen to how native speakers pronounce. It's best to listen to the sentences read by native speakers, and then dictate the sentences on the basis of understanding.

If we insist on learning one verb every day by understanding and reading three example sentences, we can learn 100 ~ 200 common verbs in about 200 days. Through the long and difficult words in the vocabulary of the middle school entrance examination, such as connect, concert, concept and conquer , focus on memorizing some commonly used root words, and be familiar with some commonly used prefixes and suffixes.
